Curated presents a fundraising auction in partnership with the Kawartha Art Gallery. This auction features a collection of paintings by Ontario artist Maurice E. Roberts, created between 1942-1965 as the artist travelled throughout Southern Ontario and Quebec. The artist beautifully captured moments in time from communities such as Acton, Picton, Simcoe, Sutton, Beaverton, Brooklin, and Maple, as well as scenes from Kingston, Orillia, Georgian Bay, Toronto, and the Laurentians. These paintings are must-haves for the local history buff! The public is invited to bid on the paintings with proceeds from the sale going to the Kawartha Art Gallery.
Kawartha Art Gallery was gifted the Maurice E. Roberts collection with the intention of raising funds for the care and conversation of the Gallery's Permanent Collection. For more information about Kawartha Art Gallery’s Permanent Collection visit www.kawarthagallery.com

Painted between the years of 1942 and 1965, the work of Maurice E. Roberts captivates its observers with a view of landscapes over half a century ago.
Maurice E. Roberts, 1888 – 1966, was born in Amherst Island, Ontario. Pursuing a career in banking Maurice spent many of his weekends and holidays exploring and painting the landscapes of Southern Ontario and Quebec, despite having no formal art training.
All of the pieces are in excellent condition and have been professionally appraised. Each piece is signed and dated by the artist with many of the pieces in frames.
